Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute W2RO's government relations strategy, managing relationships with key provincial and federal government stakeholders.
  • Lead government relations initiatives and activities, liaising with stakeholders to identify strategic priorities and developing strategies to address issues and enhance relationships with government representatives.
  • Support and coordinate W2RO's internal volunteer technical committees and action plans.
  • Develop a cohesive strategy for research and data collection and analysis to advance evidence-based sector positions.
  • Prepare briefs, position papers, and messaging through member bulletins, social media, and W2RO's website, ensuring members are kept apprised of developments and issues.
Requirements:
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge, skills, and experience in policy, stakeholder relations, research, and analysis.
  • Effective in a public policy environment and innovative in delivering policy projects in collaboration with a diverse membership.
  • Prior Association experience is preferred, knowledge of the waste management sector is an asset but is not a requirement.
