Airline Departure Control Specialist

The Opportunity:

Sunwing Airlines is seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Departure Control and Facilitation Administrator. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency in our departure control processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage secure flight data to ensure compliance with Advanced Passenger Information System Regulations (APIS)
  • Proactively inform stations of resolution calls and support departmental relationships with government agencies and tour operators
  • Ensure accurate and timely transmission of APIS information to customs authorities
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of all correspondence and correspondence
  • Operate and manage numerous applications and systems simultaneously
  • Prepare, maintain, and update files, records, and reports as required
  • Ensure compliance with Sunwing's Ground Handling Manual (GHM) and assist ground handling staff with company policy-related questions
  • Ensure all Quality Control Messages (QCMs) are uploaded into the Sunwing Operations Website
  • Monitor and ensure submission of all pre-departure and post-departure APIS messages

Requirements:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English (Bilingual; Spanish/French) an asset
  • Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada security clearance
  • Understanding and operational knowledge of the airline industry, including practical experience of airline operations
  • Ability to meet short deadlines and prioritize tasks
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Flexibility and personal time commitment – available to work on a rotating 24/7 schedule
