Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Co-Op Student to join our External Relations team at Trans Mountain. As a Co-Op Student, you will have the opportunity to work with a progressive group of Stakeholder Engagement and Communications professionals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate material development for new/updated content.
  • Draft documents, including plans, reports, correspondence, briefing notes and presentations.
  • Process materials through approvals; Support events and conferences (virtual and/or in person), including but not limited to logistics, attendance, monitoring, participating on behalf of Trans Mountain.
  • Support public engagement, issues management and information-sharing activities.
  • Support the Community Investment Program and Public Awareness Program through implementing program enhancements, data entry and performing additional tasks as needed.
  • Research, prepare and update contact lists.
  • Coordinate damage prevention and other mail outs.
  • Support record keeping and submissions to Borealis database.
  • Support crisis communications activities;
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Professional Experience:
  • Actively enrolled in Communications, Public Relations, Stakeholder Engagement, or a related field.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work efficiently in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to accurately analyze information.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated, capable of performing tasks.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Opportunity for a cornerstone project for student's portfolio, project will be based on student interest and business need.
  • Driver's license.
  • Position is Burnaby based.
