About the Role:

The Senior Program Manager, Indigenous Health Specialist, is a key member of the HSO Products and Strategic Offerings team, reporting to the Director, Cultural Safety and Humility. This role involves leading the design, co-production, and release of people-centered, evidence-based standards in collaboration with the team, subject matter experts, and Technical Committee members.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development of standards that promote quality and safety in health and social services.
  • Ensuring compliance with Standards Council of Canada (SCC) and International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) requirements.
  • Planning, documenting, and managing project requirements and scope, delivered on time and on budget.
  • Developing and maintaining strong partnerships with First Nations, Inuit, and Métis governing bodies, communities, and organizations.
  • Providing expertise and advice to peers on anti-oppression, anti-racism, cultural safety, and humility, and health equity.
  • Continuously improving and innovating standards development processes.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a related field, such as Health Sciences, Health Policy, or Business Administration.
  • Progressive leadership experience (5-7 years).
  • Demonstrated experience working to advance First Nations, Inuit, and Métis health and wellness priorities.
  • Strong understanding of cultural safety, humility, and anti-racism as it applies to the experiences, quality, and access to care for First Nations, Inuit, and Métis patients/clients.
  • Advanced knowledge of contemporary and historical context influencing First Nations, Inuit, and Métis health and wellness.
  • Standards development and/or accreditation experience (5-7 years).
