Key Responsibilities

As a Disability Support Specialist with WJS Canada, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a private residential or group home setting. Your primary goal will be to help them achieve their goals, become more independent, and involved in their community.

Key Support Areas

Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, housekeeping, and meal planning.

Develop and implement individualized support plans to help clients achieve their goals and increase their independence.

Provide support in a one-on-one or group setting, promoting inclusion in community activities and linking clients to community resources.

Requirements

Grade 12 diploma or diploma in Disability Studies or related Social Sciences/Human Services.

Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license, suitable Driver's Abstract, proof of insurability, and own vehicle.

First Aid/CPR, Restrictive Procedures, Abuse Protocols, and Non Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention certifications.
