Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Service Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. As a Disability Service Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in a private residential or group home setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and becoming more independent and involved in their community.
  • Support individuals with personal care, housekeeping, companionship, and developing specific skills such as budgeting, meal planning, and shopping.
  • Provide support one-on-one or with others, promoting inclusion in community activities and linking individuals to community support services and employment coaching.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma or diploma in Disability Studies or related Social Sciences/Human Services or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, with specialized education and training and/or demonstrated success in relevant settings.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license, suitable Driver's Abstract, proof of insurability, and own vehicle.
  • First Aid/CPR, Restrictive Procedures, Abuse Protocols, and Non-Violent Crisis Prevention Intervention certifications.
