About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Trainer to join our team at DSM. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing, delivering, and facilitating Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) training materials and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver OH&S training programs to adult learners, ensuring compliance with Nova Scotia OHS Standards.
  • Conduct internal safety program and management system reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in the development of departmental procedures, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), and Work Instructions (WIs).
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical coordinators to develop best-in-class safety training content.
  • Participate in the Joint Occupational Health and Safety (JOHS) Committee to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Requirements:

  • Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or a closely related field.
  • Professional designation or certification in OH&S (CRSP, CRST, CSP, CHSC) or ability to pursue.
  • Minimum five years' experience as a health and safety practitioner and a Qualified First Aid Instructor.
  • Strong working knowledge of Nova Scotia OHS Standards.
  • Experience creating and facilitating OH&S training.
  • Comfortable spending time in a manufacturing plant environment and interacting with frontline operations and production employees.
