We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Worker to join our team at Apollo Convention Centre Inc. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building maintenance and repair, with the ability to perform a variety of tasks including:

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweeping, Mopping, and Cleaning: Sweep, mop, and clean hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and debris.
  • Window and Wall Cleaning: Wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Minor Repairs: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Safety and Security Checks: Perform safety and security checks to ensure the building is secure and safe for occupants.
  • Moving and Storage: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Lawn and Garden Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Bathroom and Fixture Cleaning: Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Winter Maintenance: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access to the building.

Requirements

  • Dependability: Be dependable and reliable in performing tasks and responsibilities.
  • Flexibility: Be flexible and able to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Work Term: Work on a permanent basis.
  • Work Language: Work in English.
  • Hours: Work 35 hours per week.
