Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Policy Coordinator to join our team within Emergency Management & Community Safety (EMCS). As a Policy Coordinator, you will play a key role in managing the policy/standard operating procedures (SOP) creation and publication process, providing technical writing expertise, and ensuring policies and SOPs are reviewed and processed within the prescribed review period cycle.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing support to responsible parties, ensuring policies and SOPs are reviewed and processed within the prescribed review period cycle.
- E nsuring that short-term operation advisories containing new or revised operational procedures are embodied within relevant SOPs in a timely manner.
- Auditing and reviewing policy development workflow, ensuring timely review, approval and publication, and maintaining links to reference documents and resource material.
- Coordinating questions, feedback and responses to comments, recommending changes considering the impact on related policies and procedures.
- Ensuring that outdated policies and SOPs are archived according to City of Calgary and Calgary 911 records management standards.
- Ensuring that all policies and procedures are written according to an established standard and style and are supplemented by the use of tables and graphics.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A completed 2-year diploma in Business Administration, Communications or a related field and at least 3 years of related experience, OR
- A degree in Business Administration, Communications or a related field and at least 1 year of related experience.
- A certificate and/or experience with Records/Knowledge Management and previous experience with policy management software will be considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills, time management and organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment and build positive working relationships.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary range of $55,000 - $75,000 per annum, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including pension and health benefits.
