Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Development Specialist to join our team at Little Moon Education Inc.

About the Role

This is a permanent full-time position, working 40 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing child-care programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Planning: Assess the children's development to prepare a learning plan tailored to their needs.
  • Program Implementation: Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the overall development of children.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain daycare equipment to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Communication: Communicate with parents through regular updates on their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Leadership: Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children on outings.
  • Encouragement: Encourage children to express their creativity through various forms of art, music, and physical activity.
  • Guidance: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits.
  • Problem-Solving: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents or supervisors.
  • Collaboration: Establish collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers.
  • Environment Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
Requirements
  • Certifications: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
  • Languages: English
  • Work Experience: An asset, but not required
