Job Summary


We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Nurse Practitioner Assistant to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct nursing care to patients/residents/clients under the supervision of a practicing Nurse Practitioner (NP), Registered Nurse (RN), or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN).


Key Responsibilities



  • Provides nursing care to patients/residents/clients by performing a variety of nursing functions/activities, including administering medications, conducting assessments, and managing intravenous infusions.
  • Assesses, documents, and reports the current health status of assigned patients/residents/clients by collecting relevant documentation from patient charts and other related records.
  • Collaborates with the nursing team, multi-disciplinary team members, community care partners, and the patient/resident/client and family to develop and modify the health care plan.
  • Evaluates patient/resident/client response to the health care plan by assessing the effect of nursing interventions as identified in the care plan.

Qualifications



  • Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an Employed Student Registrant and continued enrollment in a recognized nursing education program.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Successful completion of a medical/surgical or mental health/substance use clinical practicum or equivalent in a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse Program.
