Job Summary

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate nurse to work under the direction of a Manager, Clinical Operations, and a named practicing Nurse Practitioner (NP), Registered Nurse (RN), or Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN). You will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients and residents, operating in accordance with unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) Standards for Nursing practices.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to patients and residents by performing various nursing functions/activities, including administering medications, conducting assessments, managing intravenous infusions, and identifying and reporting crisis or emergent situations consistent with established Fraser Health assessment and evaluation tools.
  • Assess, document, and report the current health status of assigned patients and residents by collecting relevant documentation from patient charts and other related records, observing patient conditions, conducting physical, mental, emotional, and social assessments, documenting healthcare status, and reporting changes to appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with the nursing team, multi-disciplinary team members, community care partners, and patients/residents/families to develop and modify healthcare plans, including discharge planning processes and addressing assessed needs of individuals.
Requirements
  • Current registration with BCCNM as an Employed Student Registrant and continued enrollment in a recognized nursing education program.
  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support.
  • Successful completion of a medical/surgical or mental health/substance use clinical practicum or equivalent in a Registered Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse Program.
Estimated Salary

$85,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
