Job Title: People & Diversity Manager

Join our team as a People & Diversity Manager at AC Hotels by Marriott Ottawa Downtown, where you will play a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and engaged work environment.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced People & Diversity Manager to lead our human resources function. As a key member of our executive committee, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to attract, retain, and engage top talent, while promoting a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement human resources strategies to support business objectives
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including job postings, interviews, and selection processes
  • Manage labor relations, including collective bargaining and conflict resolution
  • Oversee compensation and benefits programs, including salary administration and benefits enrollment
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance associate skills and knowledge
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics, including retention rates, turnover, and engagement surveys
  • Collaborate with management team to plan and achieve business objectives
Requirements
  • 2-year degree from an accredited university or college in People Resources, Business Administration, or related major, with at least 3 years of experience in people resources, management operations, or a related professional area
  • OR 4-year bachelor's degree in people resources, Business Administration, or related major, with 2 years of experience in the people resources, management operations, or related professional area
  • Previous people resources experience in limited or full-service property with a major hotel brand (Marriott / Hilton / Accor / IHG / Hyatt)
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and late nights
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and French
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in pre-opening and hotel opening operations
  • Excellent understanding of governmental regulations and safety standards, including but not limited to the Ontario Employment Standards Act; Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WHMIS
  • Good working knowledge of HR related software programs including Employeur D and Microsoft Office Suite
