We are currently seeking qualified part-time and full-time Awake Care Counselors to join our team at the Chimo Youth Retreat Centre, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving children, youth, and families in the Edmonton region for over 50 years.

Job Overview

As an Overnight Awake Care Counsellor, you will be responsible for providing support and care to young people between the ages of 13-17, ensuring their safety while they sleep and providing assistance when needed. This role requires warm and caring individuals who can form strong, supportive relationships with youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to young people during overnight hours
  • Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of residents
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care or Social Work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Physically able to perform tasks such as household management and light yard work
  • A clear and current Children Services Intervention Record Check
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License and a clean Drivers' Abstract
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses minimum)
