Job Description

We are seeking a qualified Nighttime Youth Care Specialist to join our team at WJS Canada. In this role, you will provide overnight support and care to youth in our group home setting.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe and healthy environment for the youth during nighttime hours, including regular bed checks and providing support as needed;
  • Provide wake-up calls to the youth and assist with morning routines, such as preparing breakfast and helping with personal care;
  • Transport school-aged children to school on weekdays;
  • Model positive behavior and build relationships with the youth to promote their well-being;
  • Assist with daily tasks, such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation;
  • Collaborate with other team members to plan and deliver programs and services that meet the needs of the youth;
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required paperwork.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in Child and Youth Work, preferably in a group home or community setting;
  • Experience working with Indigenous youth is an asset;
  • A certificate, diploma, or degree in a related field, such as Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or Education;
  • First Aid/CPR certification, as well as training in crisis intervention and medication administration;
  • Indigenous Awareness and cultural diversity training;
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for transportation.
