About the Role

The Engineering Manager reports to the Holcim North America Head of Engineering and is responsible for developing large Capital (Capex) projects for the US and Canada region, with a focus on feasibility and front-end-engineering design. This role manages the technical multi-disciplinary engineering aspects of a project.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure Health, Safety, and Environmental values, policies, and standards are maintained and integrated into all engineering project activities.
  2. Develop large capital projects through the application of standard methods, tools, and procedures, ensuring holistic development to deliver projects to the required investment decision gates on time and with no rework.
  3. Manage project budgets through feasibility study phases and deliver an executable project budget for project realization.
  4. Lead multi-disciplinary engineering development with 3rd parties and ensure delivery of initial project documentation, technical clarifications, and evaluations.
  5. Organize and conduct formal projects risk analysis with the Project Manager, Owner, and Steering Committee.
  6. Provide technical support from Engineering Discipline Engineers and Support Department to site teams during construction, commissioning, and start-up as required.
  7. Participate and contribute to engineering discussions in Steering Committees.
  8. Support the Country for a smooth transition to operation after project handover.
  9. Prepare the AAR process after project implementation and monitor technical exchanges of information with PM&E engineers and suppliers.
Requirements
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  2. Additional Education Preferred: Master's degree.
  3. Field of Study Preferred: Mechanical or Process Engineering.
  4. Required Work Experience: Proven engineering coordination experience in cement and/or similar type of heavy industry with a minimum of 5 years in cement industrial engineering related fields.
  5. Required Training/Certifications: Project Management certificate, e.g., PMI or similar, is desired.
  6. Travel Requirements: Able to travel as needed for feasibility studies and supporting project managers.
