About Our Opportunity
The Risk Analyst reports to the Manager of Insurance and Risk Management, working on the overall risk management and loss prevention strategy for the Province and its Agencies, Boards, and Commissions. This involves identifying and assessing strategic and operational risks to recommend loss protection programs and managing insurance policies, ensuring adequate limits and coverages. The incumbent reviews insurance certificates for coverage adequacy and advises on contractual wordings related to public tenders.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field with at least five years of experience, or a Master's degree and three years of relevant experience. A Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) or Canadian Risk Management (CRM) designation is required. A valid class 5 driver's license is also necessary.
The ideal candidate remains current with industry, legislative, and legal standards and has an in-depth knowledge of the Public Highways Act and the Insurance Act. They possess superb interpersonal and communication skills, a strong teamwork ethic, and show initiative.
