Job Title: Manager, Human Resources - Labour Relations and Staffing

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Human Resources professional to join our team as a Manager, Human Resources - Labour Relations and Staffing. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing equitable, inclusive, and evidence-based HR strategies that encompass all union and staffing groups of the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and promote HR strategies that support the Board's goals and objectives
  • Lead a team of HR professionals and provide guidance and support to ensure effective HR service delivery
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on labour relations, staffing, and employee engagement
  • Develop and implement performance appraisal systems and succession planning programs
  • Collaborate with internal partners to develop and operationalize action steps that support continuous improvement aligned with the Board's Strategic Plan
  • Foster a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Board community
Requirements:
  • Four-year University Degree in Labour Relations, Human Resource Management, or a closely related field
  • Minimum CHRP designation requirement, CHRL designation preferred
  • More than 10 years progressive experience in a complex, highly unionized HR environment
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to tailor advice to various organizational levels and manage a complex, varied, and fast-paced portfolio
