Job Title: Manager, Human Resources - Labour Relations and Staffing

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead our Labour Relations and Staffing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing HR strategies, leading negotiations, and providing expert advice on labour relations and employment standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies to support the Board's goals and objectives
  • Lead negotiations with union partners and provide expert advice on labour relations and employment standards
  • Provide guidance on recruitment, selection, retention, and employee engagement strategies
  • Supervise and develop existing performance appraisal systems
  • Collaborate with internal partners to share HR expertise and develop action steps to support continuous improvement
  • Foster a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion within the Board community

Qualifications:

  • Four-year University Degree in Labour Relations, Human Resource Management, or a closely related field
  • Minimum CHRP designation requirement, CHRL designation preferred
  • More than 10 years progressive experience in a complex, highly unionized HR environment
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
