Job Summary:

Cineplex is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Server or Server Assistant to join our team at The Rec Room in St John's. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional guest service, ensuring a seamless dining experience, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and ensure accurate execution.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of menu items, including daily specials.
  • Serve food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Clean designated areas, including opening and closing routines, and follow hygiene requirements.
  • Set tables to company standards, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
  • Ensure storerooms are adequately stocked with replacement items.
  • Attend to guest complaints and resolve issues satisfactorily.
  • Participate in fire drills and maintain familiarity with exits.
  • Carry out on-the-job training to ensure subordinate staff can perform duties effectively.
  • Adhere to Health, Food Safe, and Liquor service guidelines.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong service experience with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • 1-3 years of restaurant service experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Professional appearance and manner.

Working Conditions:

  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Required to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Lifting or moving up to 20lbs may be required.
