The Ontario Medical Association is seeking a skilled Senior Administrator to join our Government Relations team. As a key member of our team, you will provide critical support to our Director, Government Relations and Advocacy, in implementing our plans to influence key decision-makers in government and stakeholders through effective advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinate with external offices and internal staff to arrange meetings between the OMA and MPPs, political staff, political party officials, ministry officials, and decision-makers, stakeholders, physicians, and physician leaders.
  2. Provide general administrative support to the government relations team, including initiating routine and non-routine correspondence, maintaining meeting calendars, and arranging travel schedules and reservations.
  3. Develop and/or review briefing notes and presentations to support external and internal meetings.
  4. Note-taking at internal and external meetings, including with elected officials.
  5. Coordinate internal cross-functional meeting logistics.
  6. Support all activities related to the execution of the OMA's government relations and advocacy strategy, including but not limited to MPP and political party outreach and tracking, drafting newsletters, and organizing small and major events.
  7. Maintain and develop contact management systems, including lists of OMA physician health care advocates, stakeholders, and other supporters, and design basic analytic dashboards.
  8. Assist the government relations and advocacy team with monitoring, analysis, and summaries of relevant legislation, regulations, and policy announcements.
  9. Provide support in reporting to senior executives and the OMA Board on government relations activities and metrics.
  10. Provide support and project management as needed to the government relations and advocacy team in day-to-day activities, research projects, and overall team organization.
  11. Process honoraria for physician members participating in government relations and advocacy meetings and events.
  12. Act as a member of the Administrative Professionals Forum.
