About the Role
The Student Transition Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless transition for incoming students at Adler University. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for fostering student success.
Responsibilities
- Provide proactive outreach to ensure incoming students remain engaged with Adler University throughout the start of classes.
- Plan and execute new student engagement events designed to mitigate melt and promote a sense of community among incoming students.
- Assign current student mentors to each prospective student, providing an additional layer of support and guidance.
- Collaborate with student organizations to welcome incoming students and foster a sense of belonging and engagement.
- Train students on how to access University systems, ensuring they have the necessary tools to succeed within their program.
- Assess prospective students' eligibility for transfer credit and assist them in completing the review process.
- Assist incoming students with the selection and registration of first-term classes.
- Follow up with prospective students to ensure orientation is completed in a timely manner and any outstanding admissions documents are received.
- Assist incoming students with relocation to the Chicago and Vancouver areas by providing information and resources as needed.
- Manage all admitted student social media outlets, creating dynamic content to keep incoming students engaged and informed.
Work Environment
This role requires 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing, making it an ideal fit for those who prefer a sedentary work environment. The usual and customary methods of performing this function do not pose significant physical demands. This position may be eligible for hybrid work arrangements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in admissions, higher education, or a sales environment.
Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 CAD per year, depending on qualifications and experience. Adler University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement planning, and paid time off.
