The Opportunity:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Manager to lead and influence HR activities at our Edmonton manufacturing facility. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring that HR planning and results are aligned with business needs, and that our employees have the skills and support they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with business objectives
  • Manage the HR function, including recruitment, performance management, and employee development
  • Provide advice and guidance on labor relations matters, including grievance resolution and disciplinary actions
  • Monitor and report on HR Key Performance Indicators, such as attendance and turnover
  • Facilitate the execution of plant operations and corporate programs
  • Prepare and administer the HR budget
  • Drive Continuous Improvement initiatives related to HR
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resources, Commerce, or Business Administration
  • CPHR designation preferred
  • Minimum 8-10 years of related experience, with at least 3 years of management experience in a unionized manufacturing environment
  • Proven track record of proactively managing labor/management relationships
  • Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing people
  • Strong business and operational acumen, particularly in manufacturing and/or food processing
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to make procedural decisions and judgments involving sensitive and confidential issues
