About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Educational Assistant to join our team at Summit Micro School. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping students with special needs to reach their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, helping them with assignments and reinforcing learning concepts under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
  • Supervise students during school and extracurricular activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Assist students with integration into the classroom and school setting, promoting social development and emotional well-being.
  • Assess social developments and provide support to students with emotional disturbances, communication difficulties, and intellectual disabilities.
  • Work with students who have autism, ADHD, or behavioral issues, providing a supportive and inclusive environment.
Requirements
  • College or CEGEP education.
  • 1-2 years of experience working with children with special needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliability, initiative, and a commitment to providing high-quality support to students.
