Job Title: Special Needs Educational Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Educational Assistant to join our team at Summit Micro School. As a Special Needs Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs in their educational journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with special needs in their academic and personal development
  • Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those with emotional and behavioral challenges
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Supervise students during school activities and provide a safe and supportive environment
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful educational experience
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g., special education, child and youth care)
  • Experience working with students with special needs, preferably in a school setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position, including standing for extended periods
