Job Summary:

Tuktu Care Inc is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals to achieve a full and meaningful life in as many aspects as they choose.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Advocate for individuals' needs, rights, desires, and choices
  2. Promote independence and provide opportunities for individuals to learn and practice new skills, assisting them in developing and promoting their gifts, talents, qualities, and abilities
  3. Participate in the development, implementation, and ongoing documentation of individuals' person-centered plans. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  4. Support individuals with their personal care needs and assist in maintaining a standard that ensures they are seen positively by their friends, family, and community
  5. Support individuals to develop and maintain fulfilling relationships with family, friends, and neighbors
  6. Create and maintain positive working relationships with all professionals involved in the care of the individuals
  7. Perform other duties as needed

Requirements:

  1. Diploma in a related human/social service field
  2. One (1) year related experience required
  3. Possess and maintain a satisfactory criminal record search clearance, including Vulnerable Sector Check
  4. Possess and maintain a clear Drivers Abstract
  5. Possess and maintain a valid First Aid Certificate
  6. Possess and maintain Valid CPI training
  7. Vaccinated against Covid-19

Working Conditions:

The successful applicant will be subject to a trial period as outlined in the collective agreement article Trial Period.
