Job Description
This challenging role offers a unique opportunity for a talented policy professional to lead the development and implementation of capital policies, funding, and accountability frameworks that support Ontario's school boards in managing their facilities.

The ideal candidate will possess superior policy development and analysis experience, demonstrate leadership qualities, have a keen mind for problem-solving complex policy situations, and enjoy working in a dynamic and challenging team environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Policy Research, Analysis and Development Skills:
  • Knowledge and experience in policy development and analysis, research and development methodology, and financial trends analysis and forecasting.
  • Knowledge of government policy development, decision-making and accountability frameworks.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of computerized information system data research and analysis methods to conduct financial analysis, assess impacts of capital issues, and develop policy options and recommendations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, provincial and ministry strategic directions, funding, governance, and critical issues pertaining to Ontario's education system.

Project Management Skills:
  • Demonstrate project management and team leadership skills to coordinate or lead research development projects and support junior staff.
  • Lead and manage concurrent project responsibilities.
  • Work independently and as part of a team environment.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
  • Relationship management skills to represent the ministry, and develop partnerships and linkages with inter-jurisdictional stakeholders.
  • Communication skills and a proven ability to respond effectively to issues, provide recommendations, prepare reports, briefing materials, and correspondence.
  • Ability to create, lead, and present briefings on complex issues analysis to senior management.

Issues Management Skills:
  • Seek out and effectively analyze information to understand key business issues to identify potential solutions that could impact our business.
  • Facilitate resolution of contentious issues working collaboratively with stakeholders.
