About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Mad Ox Inc. as a key member of our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate and manage food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory.
  • Demonstrate new cooking techniques and equipment to cooking staff.
  • Supervise specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers.
  • Instruct cooks in food preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation.
  • Prepare and cook food for regular customers and special guests.
  • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking activities.
  • Plan menus and ensure food meets quality standards.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling.
Requirements
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience.
  • Permanent employment.
  • English language proficiency.
  • 35 hours per week.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Emergency First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Food Safety Certificate.
