About the Role

Sun Life is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Group Retirement Services (GRS) Compliance team. As Senior Compliance Lead, you will be responsible for providing independent compliance oversight, guidance, and support to our GRS business.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the regulatory environment, emerging issues impacting the business, and the products and services offered by GRS. They will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to develop and lead an effective team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance strategy for the GRS business, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and mitigate compliance risks, ensuring a robust control environment.
  • Provide expert advice on regulatory matters, influencing business decisions to ensure compliant outcomes.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls to ensure ongoing compliance verification.
  • Prepare regular compliance reports and updates for senior management, highlighting key trends and insights.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in compliance, with a focus on financial services and regulation.
  • Proven track record of leading high-performing teams and driving compliance initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a 3LOD environment, with a deep understanding of Regulatory Compliance Management.
  • Knowledge of Excel and macro writing skills, with the ability to analyze trends and create data-driven insights.
  • Fluency in French, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders.
Estimated Salary Range:

$120,000 - $160,000 per annum, depending on experience.
