Senior Advisor, Legal and Regulatory Compliance

As a seasoned legal and regulatory compliance professional, you play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's compliance framework. You work closely with stakeholders to ensure that all operations are aligned with organizational standards and regulations. Your expertise is sought after by senior management and decision-making bodies for guidance on complex strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading specialized development projects that significantly impact the organization
  • Developing and recommending strategic directions for legal and regulatory compliance to balance business needs and best practices
  • Advising clients and partners on strategic project planning, execution, and monitoring
  • Identifying, analyzing, and addressing major issues, providing recommendations to decision-makers
  • Creating and updating policies, standards, models, and programs to support unit initiatives
  • Promoting a culture of ethics and compliance through targeted training programs
  • Representing the unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies
  • Negotiating agreements with external partners and organizations on behalf of Desjardins

You will be rewarded with a competitive salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Additional benefits include:

  • 4 weeks of flexible vacation starting in the first year

To succeed in this role, you should possess:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., law, business administration)
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity
  • Knowledge of French is required; intermediate advanced proficiency in English is necessary due to interactions with English-speaking partners and clients
