Job Title: Executive Chef

The Algonquin Resort is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to join our culinary team. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for leading our culinary operations and ensuring that our guests receive exceptional dining experiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Develop and implement new cooking techniques and equipment training for our cooking staff to enhance our menu offerings.
  • Train and supervise cooks and other kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
  • Plan and prepare complete meals and specialty foods for events such as banquets and special functions.
  • Recruit, hire, and train staff to meet the needs of our culinary team.
  • Ensure that all food meets quality standards and is prepared in a safe and sanitary environment.
  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs to maintain a well-maintained kitchen.
  • Plan menus and ensure that they meet the needs of our guests and the resort's culinary standards.
  • Prepare dishes for guests with food allergies or intolerances.
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Safe Food Handling certificate.
Work Environment:

The Executive Chef will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to stand for extended periods, handle heavy loads, and work under pressure.
