Chef Job Description

Chef MI is seeking a skilled and experienced chef to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for planning and preparing high-quality meals for our customers.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate special events and banquets, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional customer service.
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs, maintaining profitability and quality standards.
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements, taking into account dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes, adhering to food safety and presentation standards.
  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques, promoting a culture of excellence and safety.
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Clean kitchen and work areas, promoting a safe and healthy environment.
Requirements
  • Safe Food Handling certificate, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring high-quality food presentation and customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, maintaining composure and efficiency under pressure.
  • Standing for extended periods, with the ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
