Cormorant Island Site Medical Director/Chief of Staff

The Site Medical Director & Chief of Staff at Cormorant Island Hospital is a senior leadership position with a dual function. As the medical leader, you will work in a collaborative model with the Site Director to ensure integrated service delivery that meets high standards. In your capacity as Chief of Staff, you will link directly with Department Heads and Division Heads to oversee medical governance within the site.
This role reports to both an Executive Medical Director and an Executive Director. The ideal candidate should possess exceptional leadership skills, including strategic thinking, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities.
Main Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Co-lead activities to ensure seamless service delivery integration within the site; Liaise with Departmental Medical Leaders to address matters of physician governance and professional practice issues.
- Operations & Quality: Collaborate with the Site Director to monitor site performance, focusing on inter-program issues, and facilitate course corrections when necessary; Ensure thorough investigation and resolution of site-related PSLS and PCQO events.
- Change Management: Work with the Site Director to develop and implement change management plans, engaging and supporting site physicians and staff through change.
- Informatics: Oversee activities that advance technology and data use to enhance service delivery, leveraging the electronic health records (EHR) in collaboration with the Quality Systems team.
- Planning: Assess, monitor, and anticipate site resource needs, working with medical leaders and administrative leaders to prioritize these needs within available resources.
Additional Contract Requirements:
- Work collaboratively in a co-leadership model with assigned Site Director.
- Chair or co-chair relevant site committees.
- Dedicate time to this position during regular working hours or as agreed upon with the Executive Medical Director and Executive Director.
- Participate in orientation and training.
Salary Information: This role comes with an estimated annual salary of $150,000-$200,000, commensurate with experience.
