About the Role

The Métis Nation of Ontario is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief of Staff to support the Provincial Secretaries office. As a key member of the senior leadership team, the Chief of Staff will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office, coordinating with the MNO administration and senior leadership team, and ensuring the Provincial Secretaries receive timely information and are able to provide effective advocacy and advice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the activities and manage the day-to-day needs of the Provincial Secretaries to build an effective and accountable team.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans in collaboration with the President, Provincial Secretaries, and PCMNO.
  • Build trust and good relations with key partners and stakeholders, acting as a point of contact for others with respect to the Provincial Secretaries office.
  • Attend meetings with MNO Provincial Secretaries, Directors, MNO staff, and external stakeholders on topics related to MNO's overall strategic goals and direction.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of Chief of Staff or leadership experience in an Indigenous or non-Indigenous government setting.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher certification in Public Service/Government Operations/Political Science.
  • Recent experience interacting with boards or councils at a senior leadership level.
  • Exceptional project coordination, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve conflicts and manage challenging situations.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with a focus on relationship-building.
  • Ability to work extended hours or on weekends as required.
  • Willing and able to travel with overnight stays in other provinces.
  • Bilingualism (considered an asset).
