About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer / Water Resources Project Manager to join our team in Markham or Mississauga offices. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating stormwater management designs for projects ranging from commercial or residential infill developments to master stormwater drainage plans.

The ideal candidate will serve as the prime contact on their projects with clients, approval agencies, and others, utilizing their technical and leadership abilities to lead a project team of designers and engineers.

  • Guide the stormwater management design for projects through to completion, including feasibility work, preliminary design, detailed design, scheduling, tendering, and construction.
  • Coordinate the completion of stormwater tasks within the overall stormwater management team, reviewing work completed by engineers in the stormwater management and civil design teams.
  • Supervise and mentor stormwater management engineers, project engineers, technologists, and administrative staff.
  • Prepare and review engineering design of stormwater management systems, including ponds, underground and surface drainage infrastructure, low impact development features, green infrastructure, and erosion and sediment control plans.
  • Collaborate with planners, landscape architects, environmental specialists, civil designers, project managers, and external consultants to complete complex projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this challenging role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of Ontario's stormwater guidelines and regulations.
  • Familiarity with the land development/redevelopment process and water resources, environmental, and/or civil engineering concepts.
  • An excellent communication skillset, with the ability to effectively communicate ideas to others verbally and in written documentation.
  • Strong working knowledge of software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD (Civil3D), SWMHYMO, InfoWorks, GAWSER, or other models.
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, with 10 years' experience in water resources engineering and land development engineering experience.

Estimated Salary Range

$120,000 - $160,000 per year, depending on experience.
