Director, Human Resources Business Partner

We seek an experienced HR leader to drive organizational and people strategies as Director, Human Resources Business Partner. Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President, you will lead a team of HR professionals supporting regional teams in Ontario, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan, as well as corporate services.

Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives that align with business objectives. You will foster a culture of collaboration, engagement, and growth, partnering with the Senior Leadership Team to deliver exceptional service to residents.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and Develop the HR Team: Oversee, coach, and manage a team of regional HR professionals to deliver consistent, high-quality HR services.
  • Strategic Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with operational leaders, acting as a trusted advisor to the Senior Operations Leadership Team.
  • Change Management & Program Implementation: Deliver HR programs and initiatives through effective change management and communication strategies.
  • Leadership Coaching: Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on complex people-related matters, including performance management, team dynamics, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Conflict Resolution & Employee Relations: Address and resolve team member concerns, oversee the administration of HR programs, and support leaders in fostering positive workplace environments.
  • Policy and Compliance Oversight: Ensure consistent application of HR policies, standards, and processes.
  • Operational Planning: Develop and execute an annual HR operational plan aligned with the organization's business plan.
  • Employee Engagement and Retention: Partner with business leaders to implement strategies that enhance team member engagement, retention, and overall workplace culture.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • 8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in multi-site environments, including both unionized and non-unionized settings.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience, managing and developing a team of HR professionals.
  • A university degree or college diploma, and a CHRL or CHRE designation (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • A proven ability to build and sustain strong relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience providing strategic employment and labour-related advice, navigating complex legislative and employment matters across multiple provinces.
  • Exceptional program management skills, thriving in multi-tasking environments.
  • A track record of partnering with and influencing senior leaders, providing guidance on critical HR issues.
