About the RoleThis full-time position reports to the Manager, Resource Planning, within the Finance department. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to provide expert financial planning support and advice.
Responsibilities include developing and preparing financial analysis and reports, analyzing data from various sources, and providing informed reporting to university stakeholders. The incumbent will also collaborate with stakeholders to assess and analyze business process and system needs.
- Decision Support: Develop and prepare financial analysis and reports required by internal users; analyze and compile data from various sources and prepare long-range projections.
- Reporting: Support client areas in their financial planning needs and reporting of financial results; monitor and communicate changes in accounting standards.
- SUPPORT and TRAINING: Provide expert advice and training on general accounting and best practices; support business units in the preparation of audit-ready financial statements.
Requirements for this position include a Bachelor's degree and Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A minimum of 6-10 years' experience in finance and accounting is required, with in-depth knowledge of complex financial scenarios. Experience in managing technology-related controls and applicable systems and technology experience in Microsoft Office products are also necessary.
