About the Role

Clean Harbors, a leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services, is seeking an Environmental Specialist to join our team in Red Deer, AB.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to handle, segregate, pack, and inspect hazardous waste in accordance with Federal/Provincial/Local regulations and our company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with lab packs within customer facilities, household hazardous waste (HHW) collections, and lab moves
  • Prepare computer-generated packing lists, labels, manifest, and land disposal restriction notifications
  • Perform inspections of staging, accumulating, and storage areas to ensure proper housekeeping procedures and compliance
  • Collects, segregates, and properly packages waste chemicals for disposal to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance
  • Execute jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations, including fortune 500 companies
  • Responsible for final preparation and approval of all projects before shipment in accordance with Provincial and Federal environmental and transportation regulations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Class 3 Driver's License
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Clean shaven for work to wear respirators
  • Strong understanding of Transportation of Dangerous Goods
  • College degree preferred
  • Previous experience in Environmental Services (e.g., remediation, abatement, emergency spill response, etc.)
