Job Title: Zone Manager

As a key member of the Kal Tire Store Leadership Team, the Zone Manager plays a crucial role in the management, growth, and success of multiple stores within a designated region. This position requires strong leadership skills, with a focus on multi-store operations, financial management, and leading organizational initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive results and ensure the performance of all stores within the zone, focusing on sales, safety, and culture.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Director to develop a zone plan, aligning store budgets and plans with the zone and region, and establishing key performance metrics.
  • Maintain an active in-store leadership presence for the zone model store, responsible for continuous improvement of the stores within the zone, with overall accountability for results in the zone.
  • Create a shared understanding of operational excellence across the zone through visible leadership and ensure accountability to and alignment with Kal Tire Way operational behaviors.
  • Assess performance in the zone through on-site observations and develop insights through data-driven analysis of financial, operational, and team member engagement reporting.
  • Coach for improvement and mentor store management teams in these practices.
  • Analyze Profit and Loss statements for the zone and implement strategies to grow sales and improve profitability.
  • Engage with the Regional Director to validate sales plans and support the sales strategy and programs.
  • Lead change and continuous improvement initiatives in the zone, supporting Store Managers to implement, ensure adoption, and manage resistance.
  • Promote understanding of the vision for Kal Tire and Store Operations, ensuring alignment between the region, zone, and individual stores.
  • Build a diverse and inclusive team by continually developing management talent to improve managerial performance at store locations.
  • Promote a culture of accountability for safety and customer satisfaction across the zone.
Qualifications and Success:
  • Operations management experience in a multi-store environment and/or oversight of a model location for a minimum of three to five years.
  • People management experience, including recruiting, managing, and assessing performance, supporting career development, identifying growth potential, and driving engagement.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple store locations and achieve customer service and sales targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across business functions to achieve expected results.
  • Create and sustain culture change to ensure accountability for operational excellence.
  • Manage profit and loss across multiple locations, present data, and explain strategies and ideas to upper management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop teams, demonstrating strong people management and effective communication skills.
  • College or university diploma or degree, or equivalent combination of experience and education.
Special Requirements:
  • Regular travel within the zone is expected.
  • Flexibility to relocate if and when required.
