About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Rothewood Academy Richmond Garden City. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children in our care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Develop and implement child-care programs that promote the overall well-being of children, including their physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Leadership and Guidance: Lead activities and engage children in learning experiences, such as storytelling, singing, and crafts, to promote their development and interests.
  • Child Care and Supervision: Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and ensure their overall health and well-being.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
  • Environment and Safety: Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children.
  • Program Coordination: Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certifications and Licenses: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate.
  • Work Terms and Conditions: Permanent, 37.5 hours per week.
  • Language: English.
