Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Counselor for Children and Youth to join our team at Family Services of Greater Vancouver. The successful candidate will provide counseling services to children and youth, working with them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to children and youth, addressing a range of issues including mental health, relationships, and academic performance.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, working collaboratively with families and other professionals as needed.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify areas of strength and challenge, informing the development of effective interventions.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated approach to client care.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and research in the field.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a relevant field, such as counseling, psychology, or social work.
  • 3 years of experience working with children and youth, preferably in a counseling or therapeutic setting.
  • Strong knowledge of counseling theories and techniques, as well as experience with evidence-based practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and mutual support.
