Talent Coordinator Associate Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate start-to-end logistics for student recruitment, including arranging career fairs and on-campus interviews, organizing firm tours, and monitoring volume of applications.
  • Liaise with Law Schools nationally for student recruitment, sponsorship, advertising, and/or awards.
  • Prepare employment letters, including offer letters and decline letters, for students and lateral associates.
  • Coordinate the student mentoring program with guidance from the Director of Talent.
  • Assist with the associate mentoring program with guidance from the Director of Talent.
  • Plan and coordinate student orientation with direction from the Director of Talent.
  • Assist the Director of Talent with professional development and skill-building sessions for students and associates.
  • Coordinate the student evaluation process and assist the Director of Talent with the mid-year and year-end associate performance management process.
  • Oversee Law Society deadlines and filings and coordinate payment of license processing fees for students.
  • Provide support for lateral legal recruitment in terms of coordinating interviews and keeping recruitment records.
  • General administrative duties, including booking meeting rooms, preparing and processing payments, documenting processes, maintaining student budget reports, and assisting with event logistics.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years of administrative experience within a professional services organization and/or Human Resources experience, including recruitment.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma and/or equivalent combination of education/work experience.
  • Experience in a law firm or professional services environment considered an asset.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, and results-oriented with the ability to take initiative.
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to consistently meet the needs of internal clients, including flexibility and perseverance, and offer the appropriate options, solutions, and resolutions as required.
  • Highly effective project management, multi-tasking, and time management skills to meet deadlines.
  • Proactively seeks and implements efficient processes and procedures and has demonstrated the ability to document these.
  • Able to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively, independently, and in collaboration with colleagues, students, all levels of management, lawyers, and other stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the principles of confidentiality and demonstrates commitment to privacy and ethical conduct.
