Child and Youth Counsellor Position

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Counsellor to join our team in the Child Mental Health Inpatient Unit at North York General Hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide direct care to patients and families experiencing acute psychiatric conditions
* Develop and implement a plan of care in collaboration with the child/family and other healthcare team members
* Act as a role model and mentor CYC colleagues and students
* Participate in quality improvement activities as required
* Engage in evidence-based practice and initiate changes to improve the quality of CYC interventions as appropriate
Requirements:
* Certified Child & Youth Counsellor Diploma from a recognized community college
* Baccalaureate degree in a related field, preferred
* O.A.C.Y.C. membership, preferred
* Broad experience in an acute psychiatric setting, preferred
* Bilingualism in French/English, an asset
