We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Counsellor to join our team in the Child Mental Health Inpatient Unit at North York General Hospital. As a Child and Youth Counsellor, you will provide direct care to patients and families experiencing acute psychiatric conditions, with a focus on social skills, strengths, development, and functioning in the context of the family and milieu.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct care to patients and families experiencing acute psychiatric conditions
Develop and implement a plan of care in collaboration with the child/family and other healthcare team members
Act as a role model and mentor CYC colleagues and students
Participate in the comprehensive assessment of the adolescent with a focus on psychosocial issues, strengths, and functioning in the context of the family and milieu
Collaborate to develop individualized and comprehensive plans of care to achieve mutually agreed-upon goals
Requirements:
Certified Child & Youth Counsellor Diploma from a recognized community college
Baccalaureate degree in a related field, preferred
O.A.C.Y.C. membership, preferred
Broad experience in an acute psychiatric setting, preferred
Bilingualism in French/English, an asset

This is a Part-Time Casual position with 8-hour shifts on an as-needed basis in the Child Mental Health Inpatient Unit. We offer a highly competitive total compensation package, which includes pay in lieu of benefits, vacation pay, and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan.
