Job Summary

North York General Hospital is seeking a skilled Child and Youth Counsellor to join our Child Mental Health Inpatient Unit. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide direct care to patients and families experiencing acute psychiatric conditions, focusing on social skills, strengths, and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Provide direct care to patients and families, including assessment, intervention, and support.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to colleagues and students, promoting excellence in child and youth counselling.
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and contribute to the advancement of care through teaching and learning, research, and innovation.
Requirements
  • Certified Child and Youth Counsellor Diploma from a recognized community college.
  • Baccalaureate degree in a related field, preferred.
  • O.A.C.Y.C. membership, preferred.
  • Broad experience in an acute psychiatric setting, preferred.
  • Bilingualism in French and English, an asset.
