Job Title: Child and Youth Counsellor - Child Mental Health Specialist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Counsellor to join our team in the Child Mental Health Inpatient Unit. The successful candidate will provide direct care to patients and families experiencing acute psychiatric conditions, with a focus on social skills, strengths, development, and functioning in the context of the family and milieu.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide direct care to patients and families experiencing acute psychiatric conditions
* Develop and implement a plan of care in collaboration with the child/family and other healthcare team members
* Act as a role model and mentor CYC colleagues and students
* Participate in quality improvement activities as required
* Engage in evidence-based practice and may initiate changes to improve the quality of CYC interventions as appropriate
* Participate in ongoing professional development

Requirements:

* Certified Child & Youth Counsellor Diploma from a recognized community college
* Baccalaureate degree in a related field, preferred
* O.A.C.Y.C. membership, preferred
* Broad experience in an acute psychiatric setting, preferred
* Bilingualism in French/English, an asset

This is a Part-Time Casual position with 8 hour shifts on an as needed basis in the Child Mental Health Inpatient Unit.
