Job Opportunity:

Aecon Nuclear is seeking a Project Coordinator Co-op to support the Darlington New Nuclear Project. The successful candidate will work with the TBM Specialist and contribute to the validation phase design, procurement, and site mobilization scope for the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete project shift reports using internal software.
  • Provide field and office support to tunnel management/operations, including work plan development and maintenance, design document interpretation, and implementation of design in the field.
  • Identify, record, and report any deviations from design documents and drawings.
  • Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs, and applicable procedures.
  • Assist with finding vendors and completing purchase requisitions on an efficient timeline for procurement to not interfere or delay operations.
  • Provide accurate progress reports to tunnel management.
  • Assist and monitor safety programs and statistics as required.
  • Active involvement in quality assurance with regards to understanding and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Support TBM and surface shift coordinators, including on-site testing of materials/products, collection of samples, and quality control checks.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Degree (preferred).
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0.
  • Proficient written (report writing) communication skills.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint applications (an asset).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication (both oral and written) skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiar with TBM tunneling concept and have a desire to learn.
