Compensation and Benefits
The estimated annual earnings for this role are $154,336.00, based on a combination of regular hourly rate and overtime pay. In addition to a competitive salary, B2Gold offers a comprehensive benefits package for employees and their dependents.
Job Description
This surveying position will play a critical role in determining the precise location, elevation, and dimensions of underground passages. You will utilize advanced surveying equipment and technology, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed underground surveys to determine the precise location, elevation, and dimensions of underground passages;
- Utilize advanced surveying equipment and technology such as total stations, GPS, and laser scanners;
- Perform vertical raise layouts, control surveys, stope markups, and vent surveys;
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites;
- Collaborate with mining engineers, geologists, and other technical staff to integrate survey data into mining plans and operations;
- Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing underground surveys;
- Complete risk assessments and hazard identification in surveyed areas;
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation of survey findings and present them to management; and
- Ensure the proper maintenance and calibration of surveying equipment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Five (5) years' experience in surveying underground mining production;
- Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, Mining Technology, or a related field;
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments (total stations, GPS, laser scanners) and related software (Deswik, or AutoCAD); and
- Knowledge of overall mining methods with a focus on underground mining methods.

This position will be a fly-in-fly-out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada, reporting to the Senior Mine Engineer.
