B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, a mine under construction in northern Canada and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.

Position

Lead Surveyor, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Chief Surveyor this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the Senior Surveyor and Civil Earthworks Supervisor for daily scoping of work assignments; Provide cut and fill stakes for earthworks activities; Conduct daily as-built surveys to maintain updated surface data; Perform weekly and monthly as-built surveys for volume tracking; Carry out weekly prism monitoring using a total station to detect any movement and Install prisms or other monitoring devices as necessary; Ensure required instruments are taken according to the scheduled readings; Compute as-built and design surfaces for volumetric reporting; Maintain organized files within the controller and the PC; and Support the Open Pit Survey team.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Six (6) years’ experience in surveying in open pit mining; Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mine Engineering, or a related field; Proficiency in using surveying instruments (Trimble controller and Total Station) and related software (AutoCAD, Deswick); Advanced RPAS Pilot’s License is required; and Experience with DJI and TBC is considered an assets.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated starting annual earnings are $146,068.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $53 and overtime rate of $79.5) in a work year.
