About the Position

This is a challenging and rewarding role that offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading gold producer in a remote location. As a Lead Surveyor, you will be responsible for conducting daily as-built surveys to maintain updated surface data, performing weekly and monthly as-built surveys for volume tracking, and ensuring required instruments are taken according to the scheduled readings. Your advanced knowledge of surveying instruments and software will be essential in carrying out these duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Senior Surveyor and Civil Earthworks Supervisor for daily scoping of work assignments;
  • Provide cut and fill stakes for earthworks activities;
  • Conduct daily as-built surveys to maintain updated surface data;
  • Perform weekly and monthly as-built surveys for volume tracking;
  • Carry out weekly prism monitoring using a total station to detect any movement and Install prisms or other monitoring devices as necessary;
  • Ensure required instruments are taken according to the scheduled readings;
  • Compute as-built and design surfaces for volumetric reporting;
  • Maintain organized files within the controller and the PC;
  • Support the Open Pit Survey team.

Requirements
  • Six (6) years' experience in surveying in open pit mining;
  • Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Mine Engineering, or a related field;
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments (Trimble controller and Total Station) and related software (AutoCAD, Deswick);
  • Advanced RPAS Pilot's License is required;
  • Experience with DJI and TBC is considered an asset.
